The Functional Standardized Touchscreen Assessment of Cognition (FSTAC) introduces a novel approach to cognitive screening tools, offering a comprehensive evaluation.

Featuring 14 functional tasks, FSTAC generates detailed reports on both functional and cognitive performance, setting a new standard in assessment tools.

An outstanding aspect of FSTAC is its incorporation of real-life distractions like text messages, phone calls, and background noise, challenging individuals in a cognitively demanding environment to precisely evaluate their cognitive abilities and responses under pressure.

This tool enables clinicians to observe clients performing tasks that vary in complexity, leveraging the latest technology in the evaluation process.

Cognitive domains covered by FSTAC include general knowledge, functional math, auditory and visual attention, short-term memory, working memory, language skills, visual-spatial awareness, executive functions like flexibility and problem-solving, as well as insight and self-awareness of performance.

Functional tasks range from identifying and valuating money, managing medication and safety concerns, to handling cash transactions and planning grocery shopping. Participants are also tested on recalling stories, paying bills over the phone, rescheduling appointments, managing distractions effectively, and remembering daily tasks.
